First of all: What is Branded Content?
Branded content can be entertaining. Educational. Even provocative. In the strictest sense, it’s content that either features a product or is closely related to the category of a product. Most people think of video when they hear the term branded content, but blogs, articles, music and basically any other form of media also fit the description.
Here at Bandolier Media, we’ve partnered with a variety of brands on this type of content, including Scott’s Lawn Care, Duck Tape, Facebook Watch, Chili’s, Dave & Busters and The Home Depot. Sometimes that’s a web series about the lawn category, with product mentions worked in (Scott’s). Other times, it’s a review of a new product featuring an influencer (Dave & Buster’s). The key to success is making the content relevant to the audience while still making sense for the brand in terms of tone and approach.
